CARON Products & Services, Inc. has named Astra Chemical Technologies as their distributor for stability (climatic) and photostability chambers in India.  Located in Mumbai, the heart of India, Astra is a fast growing organization and has more than 16 years commercial experience with various multinationals including Merck KgaA, Germany; Aceto Corporation, USA; and Amersham Pharmacia, Switzerland.  Astra also offers sales and service support through offices located in Bangalore, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, and Kolkatta.

In late August, Terry St. Peter, General Manager of Caron, and Mr. Avinash Chaubal of Astra, conducted sales training at many customer sites in the Mumbai area on Caron's new Model 6540 Photostability Chamber.  According to St. Peter, "India's approval of Schedule Y under the Drugs & Cosmetics Act (US equivalent of ICH guidelines) will be key to the success of our stability and photostability chambers in the pharmaceutical market."

Astra's team of 11 sales people and 7 service engineers have a thorough knowledge of the markets in India including pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, chemical, textile, academic, biomedical, etc.
