(Marietta, OH, November 1, 2009) Caron is doing its part to contribute to the economic recovery by offering a program called "Cash for LAB Clunkers.": This stimulus plan offers customers a $1,000 factory rebate when they buy Caron's new 25 cu. ft. earth-friendly Environmental Test Chamber and retire their energy inefficient "lab clunker."

"We applauded the government's recent initiative to retire energy wasting old cars and help consumers purchase new fuel efficient models," said Caron Chairman Steve Keiser. "That's the idea behind our clunker program - we've got a new environmental chamber that really delivers on energy efficiency!"

Eligible lab clunkers include typical non-Caron environmental test chambers, 20 cu. ft. or larger, that use a 500+ Watt steam generator to produce humidity, require an electrical circuit with more capacity than 115V/20 Amps to operate and waste water by not offering a recycling system.

The goal behind the Cash for LAB Clunkers program is not only to provide economic relief to those ready to purchase a new environmental test chamber, but to promote earth-friendly technologies to laboratories.

Other environmental chambers waste energy, but the Model 6020 uses new Caron technologies, including gROD™ and gVapor™, that efficiently manage power consumption and lower operating costs. gROD™ is Caron's Refrigeration on Demand control system and gVapor™ is the steam free humidity system. Caron's Environmental Test Chamber is also designed with energy efficient components including high R, CFC-free foam insulation.

After a customer orders their new Caron 25 cu. ft. Environmental Test Chamber, they will fill out an application for the $1,000 rebate and send it back with a photo and the serial number tag of the unit they are retiring. The rebate will be paid to the end user's organization who must be the legal buyer according to the purchase order. This program will run from Nov. 1, 2009 until January 31, 2010.
