than a Plant Growth Chamber. Caron provides a full range of innovative, environmentally controlled Plant Growth Chambers to grow a wide variety of plant life. Our chambers are optimized for specific applications with the ideal temperature range, lighting and growth space for your particular application. User friendly. Our range of Plant Growth Chambers are available in two sizes: 25 cu. ft. and 33 cu. ft. The large capacity, reach-in design is engineered to allow you to most efficiently take advantage of lab space while offering best in class customer friendly features. The heavy-duty casters with leveling feet make units easy to install and relocate. Our tool-less removable, stainless steel interior and sliding shelves make cleaning, accessing plants and reconfiguration easy!
Earth friendly components. The operating systems utilize the newest technologies in energy efficiency, lowering the operating cost of the units. Caron’s gROD™, Refrigeration on Demand, manages power consumption and saves electricity, promoting environmental stability. gROD uses an intelligent refrigeration system that only operates when needed, as opposed to competitive units that constantly use energy to meet temperature setpoints. The 115V units plug into standard laboratory outlets, reducing the amount of electricity required to run the chamber.
Versatile, earth friendly lamps. Our Plant Growth, Arabidopsis and Tissue Culture Chambers incorporate Caron’s earth-friendly gLux™ high efficiency fluorescent lamps. The modular, expandable and waterproof lamp banks are precisely spaced for uniformed, balanced light spectrum across all shelf locations. The Seed Germinator has side mounted LED lights to produce proper light levels which create the optimum conditions for seed development. The digital timer, available on all models, allows the chamber to simulate day/night conditions. Independent light banks allow you to utilize the chamber’s lighting system according to your requirements. This chamber serves wide-ranging general plant growth applications. High levels of light and abundant shelf space make this chamber perfect for medium to large, leafy plants, including cereal crops, legumes, shrubs and horticulture plants. ![]() This design maximizes the growth area and space for plants, while also minimizing the chamber’s footprint in your laboratory. The Model 6320 and Model 6340 offer two tiers of shelving.
Optimized for Arabidopsis & Algae
This is the ideal chamber for the growth of Arabidopsis thaliana, algae in flasks, small seedlings and other plants requiring moderate levels of light and modest growth height. The chamber is designed to allow researchers to access, sample and measure the plants, common daily tasks for the study of Arabidopsis. The Model 6321 offers two tiers and Model 6341 offers three tiers of shelving standard.
The low shelf height and modest light levels offered by the Tissue Culture Chamber make it ideal for cultivating plant tissue cultures in petri dishes, small glass jars or other small apparatus.
Our gentle airflow, uniform temperature conditions, precisely controlled (optional) humidity and well insulated chamber all work together to eliminate condensation. The Model 6322 has five tiers of shelving and the Model 6342 has six tiers.
Optimized for Seed Germination The Seed Germinator is designed for incubation purposes, and is especially suited for the development of plantlets and seedlings. However, many applications exist for this product. The low profile, side mounted LED lights are arranged vertically. A substantial amount of usable shelf area is available due to the number and spacing of shelves. The 6323 comes standard with 12 tiers of shelving and the 6343 comes standard with 15 tiers of shelving.

Optional Lighting Enhancements
The Plant Growth, Arabidopsis and Tissue Culture Chambers come standard with cool white fluorescent lamps, which are configured based upon common industry plant research equipment. However, we also offer four additional specialized lamp alternatives that will maximize plant growth for your application. Lamp selections include: Grow (LGHT306), Bloom (LGHT307), Blue (LGHT308) and Red (LGHT309). Lamps are individually interchangeable and light packages consist of four lamps. Grow lamps allow you to optimize natural plant growth by mimicking the sun’s daylight rays with 6500K color temperature. Bloom lamps provide optimal light spectrum (2900K color temperature) to produce abundant fruit and flowers.
To even further target plant growth, Caron developed new blue and red lamps to give your plants the exact wavelengths they use to flourish and obtain energy. Chlorophyll, the critical molecule for
photosynthesis, most strongly absorbs light in the blue and red regions. Precisely matching this perfect light wavelength allows plants to grow at the fastest, healthiest rate. Depending upon the application, red and blue lights are typically combined to create the optimum growing environment. By using the light most effective for plants, no energy is wasted, and energy consumption is drastically reduced over time. Caron’s red and blue lamp options are unmatched by competitive offerings.
Blue lamps are most commonly used to foster faster flowering and quicker fruit development. These lamps produce high quantities of chlorophyll-absorbing light in the 420 nm range. Red lamps produce high quantities of chlorophyll-absorbing light in the 660 nm range, and are ideal for crops and plants at the end of their growing cycles. Specifications
